Art of Backpacking is Getting a New Logo!

on in Site Announcements

I’ve changed the site around a few dozen times since the launch in December 2008. Mostly aesthetic changes like the size of the header, width of the site, picture sizes, and a few other things here and there. Since mid-2009, the color and the header of the site have not changed. It’s always been the yellow, orange, and brown colors. Really the only thing that has changed over the years is the size of the header. It use to be enormous. Well that’s all about to change.

Since the move to Thesis 2.0 not too long ago, I’ve made things much simpler and neater around here. I’m a big fan of keeping things simple and making the articles easy to read. Even with the new theme, I was still missing a new logo. I’m a pretty decent programmer but not much of a graphic designer which is partly why I’ve kept the header for so long.

I’m excited to announce that Art of Backpacking is finally getting a new logo!

The design is being done on 99designs, a site where designers compete to create the best designs. You can follow the current designs people have submitted so far. I hate that I waited this long to get this done. I’m super excited about seeing the first few entries and working with the wonderful designers on the site.

I’m going to need YOUR help in selecting a design and providing suggestions. Once we have a batch of designs to pick from, I’m going to need your help in voting for the best design. I’ll post another update when the voting process has begun. The most voted on logo might be our new logo!

Comment below on what you think the new logo should have. What colors should I use?
