There’s so many destination based videos on the internet that it’s become cliché. We see them too often on television. In this destination video however, Adam of Sample the Culture has a kid as his guest host. Sky Safvi walks you through the Taraonga Zoo in Sydney, Australia. I think Sky needs his own show. He has a few hilarious random comments.

Derek Turner from the United States took on a journey to six continents and over thirty countries to fulfill his dream. He’s been on the road for over three years and continues to travel. In the first six months of his journey, he took it by sea by sailing the world. He started a website called The World By Sea to raise money – 100% of which would go to humanitarian needs encountered during his travels.

One of the most beautiful beaches I have seen in my travels so far was in Railay, Thailand. Phra Nang Beach is the postcard destination you dream of and even when you’re there, it still seems like you’re looking directly at a postcard.

May 12th, 2009 – I’m at the airport about to leave for my one year RTW trip when my brother (ten years old at the time) takes my backpack to try it on. He could barely walk with it because of the weight. Looks good on him!

A teacher and student collide before class, causing them to drop their morning fixes. Shot in Busan, South Korea as an English project for Writer/Director Steven Sirski’s Grade 6 advanced English class, the movie was a student project for all involved.

It’s an easy trail to follow and even easier to get caught up in the trail as a backpacker. Costa Christ of National Geographic Adventure says towards the end of the video “Backpackers are not the bad guys. It really boils down to how we travel, what the legacy is of that. We are guests in another culture. So the issue isn’t how do we stop travelers, stop tourism – the issue is how do we get it right”. How big of a footprint are backpackers holding? Is the gringo trail harmful?

I have thousands of pictures of me standing in front of moments, landscapes, and buildings from my travels. Since I’m backpacking, I don’t have much of a selection of clothes. They look as if I’ve been standing in front of a blue screen changing the scenery on Photoshop. It get boring after awhile. What about the people you meet, the partying, and random encounters? These moments need to be captured.

Today’s guest post is by Emily Hutto. This is her experience of a day in Salvador, Brazil with her camera. It’s a reminder that there are times that we need to put down the camera and see the world through our own eyes. – Michael Tieso

It’s been nearly a month since the Travel Blog Exchange Conference was held in New York City and people are still talking (and recovering?) about it. It was more than just the conference and we’ve even highlighted that the top things TBEX attendes love besides TBEX. Cailin O’Neil shows a glimpse of how good we had it in New York City.

A group of filmmakers started a journey traveling around the world recording video of music artists and putting it all into one song. The organization is creating peace, hope, unity, and inspiration around the world with the simply music.
